My Christmas' With You

Another Christmas,
Another year gone by too.
I keep remembering
My Christmas’ with you.

This year we bought a new tree
With lights of fiber optic.
But when I look at it,
I see another tree beyond it.

A tree tall and crooked,
The icicles clumped,
Branches added in the middle
To make it look plump.

It always looked like Santa
Put it up in a hurry.
He must’ve been tired
And his eyes got all blurry.

To us it was beautiful,
All sparkling and bright.
With the presents beneath
It made quite a sight.

Aunts and Uncles arrived
With cousins in tow.
At night cousin Bob drove us around
To see all the houses aglow.

Now, no longer a little girl
But a grown woman and wife,
A mother and grandmother
In the winter of my life...

I find myself traveling back to my past
And I can’t help feeling blue.
The older I get....
The more I reminisce about
My Christmas’ with you.
