We can't pull ourselves away

From in front of the TV.

Our loved ones are fighting a war

For the future of you and me.


It's incomprehensible to me

How things ever got this way.

How one man utterly insane could

Cause so much evil in the world today.


It's so easy to protest a war

Just shout..."Let That Country Be"

But it's not the American way to stand by

And not help people to be free.


Sooner or later we all know

This man would find a way

To bring us to our knees

Like that fateful September day.


Because we're free you and I can disagree

On what our leader has to say

Without being persecuted

Like those living in Iraq today.


Our troops are fighting for freedom there

To liberate another country once again

And until they all come home

We watch the war and pray for them.
